At Halo Candle Co., we hand-pour each candle with premium coconut wax blends and non-toxic fragrance oils. To help you enjoy the full luxury of your candle and maximize its burn time, follow these essential care tips.
First Burn: Set the Foundation
The first burn is the most important. Allow your candle to burn until the wax melts completely across the entire surface—this creates a proper "memory ring" and prevents tunneling. For our candles, this typically takes 2-3 hours.
Trim Your Wick
Before each burn, trim the cotton wick to ¼ inch. This simple step prevents smoking, ensures a clean burn, and extends your candle's life. A properly trimmed wick creates a steady, beautiful flame.
Burn Time Guidelines
• Minimum: 2 hours per session to establish full melt pool
• Maximum: 4 hours to prevent overheating
• Never burn below ½ inch of wax remaining
Safety & Placement
Place your candle on a heat-resistant surface away from drafts, vents, and flammable materials. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Storage Tips
Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the fragrance integrity and prevent discoloration. Keep the lid on when not in use to protect from dust.
Maximize Your Candle's Life
Our 7 oz candles burn for approximately 40-45 hours, 10 oz for 60-65 hours, and 6 oz tins for 30-35 hours when properly cared for. Following these guidelines ensures you experience every moment of your candle's premium fragrance.
